Cards are alternate order (red, black, red, black). Double turnover from the top. Then double lift from the bottom.

I like the variation where, say, the ace of spades is shown and put on the table then the ace of clubs is shown and placed next to it. The asks "would you be impressed if I could switch them", then reveals the ace of spades and clubs are in his hands. 

Perhaps another variation would be to place them on the table then say that you are going to get the misremember what they saw, turning it into a mental or hypno effect..
